This study aims to describe the denotative and connotative meanings in the online game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in terms of communication effectiveness. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this study is the grand final of MPL ID Season 9. The form of data in this study consists of words used as terms in the online game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang that contain denotative and connotative meanings. The data collection techniques used are recording, observing, and note-taking. The data analysis technique in this study uses descriptive analysis. The data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study found a total of 30 data points and 34 signs within them. The data include speech from commentators or casters and message columns written by netizens, which have denotative and connotative meanings. Denotative meaning is the actual meaning, and connotative meaning is another meaning of the actual meaning that follows the context. Furthermore, these terms were described in terms of communication effectiveness with indicators such as the recipient of the message, message content, communication media, message format, message source, and timeliness.
