Herbal medicine is one of the traditional medicines that is widely used by people to prevent and/or help cure disease. We also often find herbal medicine in everyday life. The increasing public interest and need to consume herbal medicine has been misused by herbal medicine manufacturers by adding Medicinal Chemicals (BKO), paracetamol is one of the BKO that is often added to herbal medicine which has fast efficacy and large profits. BKO is a medicinal chemical compound that is added deliberately to herbal medicine, with the aim of achieving the desired effect more quickly than usual. The aim of this research was to determine whether or not the paracetamol content in herbal medicine for stiffness was analyzed qualitatively in the form of a color reaction test and a thin layer chromatography test. The three color reagents used are FeCl₃ 10%, K₂Cr₂O₇, and NaNO₂ reagents. Based on the results of observations from samples that were dripped with K₂Cr₂O₇, the samples were negative for paracetamol, while the FeCl₃ and NaNO₂ solutions produced by herbal medicine samples were positive for paracetamol. Qualitative analysis uses TLC and the spots are read under 254 nm UV light and then the Rf value is calculated. The results of the qualitative analysis of this research showed that there were two samples of herbal medicine containing BKO paracetamol from the 3 samples collected. The conclusion of this research is that there were 2 positive samples containing paracetamol. (1)
