Floods are one of the many natural disasters that occur happend in Indonesia. Flooding events in Brebes regency can cause life-threatening. Remember the big impact of floods on the number of victims that can be caused and the implementation of development, surveys and mapping are needed to determine flood-prone zones in Brebes Regency to anticipate losses that can be caused by flood disasters. The risks and impacts of frequent flood disasters in Brebes Regency, can be reduced or minimized by conducting flood disaster preparedness and prevention. One of the things to do is to know the potentially flooded areas. Mapping flood-prone areas is one way of non-structural flood control using geographic information systems. Mapping flood-prone areas can be solved with the QGIS Application in determining flood insecurity points. The application was chosen because it can complete mapping of flood-prone areas and their dispersal areas. This research can produce a mapping system for flood-prone areas in an effort to optimize the anticipated steps of disasters that occur in Brebes Regency. The geographic information system provides convenience for users in searching for flood points around the Brebes regency area. This geographic information system can also replace the function of conventional maps that are felt still troublesome because it is related to the size of a relatively large map so that it takes quite a long time and requires a fairly high accuracy in the search for a place. |
