Indonesia is one of the developing countries where most of its economic activities are still centered on the agricultural sector. The agricultural sector is a fundamental sector in economic development because many other sectors still depend on agriculture as a provider of production raw materials (inputs). Agricultural products are Indonesia's main export products, meaning that most of the population still relies on the agricultural sector, so the real income from agriculture still constitutes the largest part of the national GDP (Gross Domestic Product) (Ragimun, 2017). The objectives of this study are to understand the implementation of rice farming insurance in Wanasari Village and to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of rice farming insurance in Sidamulya Village. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research. Descriptive qualitative research is used to examine matters related to the users of rice farming insurance in Sidamulya Village, Wanasari Subdistrict, Brebes Regency. The Agricultural Business Insurance Program (AUTP) aims to reduce or minimize the risks of farming failure, particularly in rice cultivation. The program is intended to provide protection for farmers against losses caused by floods, droughts, and attacks from plant pests and diseases. High and unpredictable agricultural risks causing substantial losses result in decreased rice production. Based on the results and discussion above, the hypothesis is about the AUTP implementation mechanism, where the rice farming insurance mechanism in Sidamulya Village is not very complicated; it only involves registering as an insurance participant, conducting location surveys, paying premiums, issuing insurance policies, and receiving claim payments. The conclusion from the second research objective is that the implementation of AUTP in Sidamulya Village is effective. The research results indicate that insurance activities are effective, as their objectives, integrity, and adaptability can be properly carried out in Sidamulya Village. |
