Abstract:

Based on this background, the research problems are formulated as follows: (1)
How is the inner conflict built by the author through the character Alma in the
novels Brianna and Bottomwise with a review of Literary Psychology, (2) What are
the factors that cause the inner conflict of the characters Alma in the novels Brianna
and Bottomwise by Andrea Hirata in a review of Literary Psychology. (3) How is
the response or action of the main female character in dealing with conflict in the
novels Brianna and bottomwise by Andrea Hirata. The aims of this research are (1)
to describe the inner conflict of the character Alma which was developed by the
author in the novel Brianna and Bottomwise from a review of Literary Psychology.
(2) Describe the factors that cause the inner conflict of the character Alma in the
novel Brianna and Bottomwise with the literary psychology approach. (3) Describes
the aspects that influenced the personality of the character Alma in the novels
Brianna and bottomwise by Andrea Hirata.This study uses the research method
used as a procedure for investigating problems by describing or describing the state
of the subject and research object based on the facts that accompany it. The method
used in this research is qualitative.
The results of this study are to conclude that, the form of inner conflict that
occurs in the character Alma in the novel “Brianna and Bottomwise by Andrea
Hirata. There are 5 forms of inner conflict, namely depression, obsession, anxiety,
frustration and concern. The results of this study show that Alma's disappointment
as a whole is influenced by the id and ego rather than the superego. As for the factors
that influence the occurrence of inner conflict, namely biological factors, this factor
arises when his mother can buy a guitar even with savings and borrowed money
from friends. Social factors occur due to Alma's frequent playing of musical
instruments, which makes Alma also get the opportunity to work in selling musical
instruments. Next is the environmental factor. |
