Abstract: Unhealthy facial skin can be caused by several factors, one of which is exposure to free radicals. A cosmetic product that can be used as a refresher and moisturizer to keep the skin healthy is face mist because it is easy to apply to facial skin. Chayote (sechium edule sw) has antioxidant activity such as flavonoids, phenols and vitamin C so that it can help ward off free radicals. This study aims to determine the best preparation and the results of the quality test of face mist preparations from chayote (sechium edule sw) extract. The method used is laboratory experimental with descriptive analysis obtained directly from the object being studied. Face mist preparations were made with concentrations of 1.5 g F1, 2 g of F2 and 2.5 g of F3. Quality test of face mist preparation includes organoleptic test, pH test, specific gravity test, spray spreadability test and viscosity test. The organoleptic test results on F1, F2 and F3 had different colors, fragrance and liquid form. The pH test of the three formulas has a value of 6, the specific gravity test, the spray spreadability test and the viscosity test of the three formulas are among the values of the requirements for a good face mist preparation. The conclusion, the best formula for the face mist preparation from chayote extract is the face mist preparation with the addition of 2,5 grams of chayote ekstract formula and the results of the quality tests conducted for the three formulas have a value that is between the face mist preparation value requirements. Suggestions need to do further research related to irritation test to find out that the preparations made are safe to use and preferred. The method used is laboratory experimental with descriptive analysis obtained directyl from the object under study. Concentrations of F1 5gr, F2 10 gr, and F3 20 gr quality tests for peel off mask preparations include organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, adhesion test, spereadability test, and drying speed test. The organoleptik test results for F1, F2, and F3 have a brownish green color with a distinctive odor of moringa leaves extract and gel from. Homogeneity test F1, F2, and F3 are homogeneous. The pH test, adhesion test, spereaddability test and drying speed test off the three formulas met the requirements for the value of a god peel off gel mask preparation with the addition of 3grams of Moringa leaves extract is 10grams of F2. And the results of quality test carried out by the three formulas meet the requirements for the value off the peel off gel mask preparation URI: http://192.168.252.215:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/128 Files in this item: 1

Abstract: Hydroquinone is a class of phenols that have water-soluble properties. The dangers of using hydroquinone in cosmetics include causing ochronosis (sandy, bluish-brown skin, itching and burning). This study aims to determine the presence or absence of hydroquinone content in facial whitening creams sold in online media. The samples studied were 3 face whitening creams sold in online media with thin layer chromatography method. The qualitative test results of hydroquinone with FeCl3 reagent 1%, obtained the results of samples A, B and C positive hydroquinone. The results of the color reaction test with Benedict reagent, O-phenanthroline and thin layer chromatography test results using the mobile phase methanol P: chloroform P (50:50), showed positive whitening cream samples containing hydroquinone, namely samples A and C. The conclusion of this study is that there are 2 positive samples containing hydroquinone, namely samples A and C. URI: http://192.168.252.215:8080/xmlui/handle/123456789/49 Files in this item: 1
